Glenfarclas distillery is a Speyside whisky distillery in Ballindalloch, Scotland. Since 1865 Glenfarclas has been owned and managed by just one family, the Grants of Glenfarclas. Glenfarclas translates as meaning valley of the green grass. The distillery has six stills which are the largest on Speyside and are heated directly by gas burners. Pure spring water, malted barley, and yeast is all that goes into Glenfarclas.
Rich amber. The nose is complex, with distinctive butterscotch and sherried fruit. Big, full-flavored, with excellent balance, develops slowly, full of sherry sweet malty tones. The finish is long lasting and smooth, with a hint of spice and sherry sweetness.

Baking spice aromas lead the nose. The palate opens with lemon peel and Granny Smith apple tartness. Adding water pulls out mild nutty tones, finishing long with nutmeg, cinnamon and vanilla.
